Product Description
Anaxagorea is a genus of flowering plants in the subfamily Anaxagoreoideae( of which it is the genius) in the family Annonaceae(1). Anaxagorea luzonensis is one of those species. It is called meng hao zi in China, and Chamaep in Thailand. It is also known as Dalairo in the Philippines(2). There are about 26 species of Anaxagorea . A. luzonensis is one of these species. Anaxagorea luzonensis is an erect shrub usually growing between 1-2 meters but occasionally becomes a small tree up to 4 meters. It is commonly found in densely forested slopes in East Asia- Southern China, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines(3). A.luzonensis is considered to be stomachic and antipyretic(3). Stomachic meaning that it helps in digestion. Antipyretic meaning that it helps in reducing fever. Hence in Thailand, it was used as traditional medicine as a stomachic and antipyretic. In China where it is known as meng zao hi, it has been historically used to promote muscle pain relief. In Thailand it was historically used on joints to help alleviate joint pain. It has also proven useful in boosting optimal male performance. It is commonly sold as supplements to aid male performance(4).
Product Benefits
Joint Health

Rheumatic diseases affect the joints, tendons, ligaments, bones, and muscles. Common symptoms include joint pain, loss of motion in joints or joints, inflammation (swelling, redness, and warmth in the joint of the affected area). Because of the frequent use of these joints and muscles, every movement we want to make is usually brought about by the movement of the corresponding muscles and joints. The person who has rheumatism is generally in pain and is ever looking for quick relief. The leaves of A. luzonensis are applied topically to help relieve the symptoms of rheumatism(4). Due to this, it has been used in Thailand for this purpose.

Male Performance

This occurs when there's a problem with male performance. There are many causes of poor male performance. Common causes include heart disease, clogged blood vessels, high cholesterol, high blood pressure. A.luzonensis can aid vasodilation. With this, it is important in helping to alleviate problems related to male performance. Research has reported Anaxagorea luzonensis to be a promising source of Xanthone. It has a phosphodiesterase type 5(PDE5) inhibitory activity, which supports vasodilation. Studies have reported that it is useful in boosting male performance. It promotes male performance by acting as a blood tonic and aiding muscle strengthening(7).

Muscle Aches & Pains

Muscle pain and aches are extremely common. Almost everyone has experienced discomfort in their muscles at some point. Because there's muscle tissue in nearly all parts of the body, this type of pain can be felt practically anywhere. In Thailand, it has proven useful in aiding muscle pain relief(4).

Immune Support

The extract helps to boost the immune system through it significant role against micro-organisms. There are myriads of microbes that the human body is exposed to. Some are kept at bay by our body's immune system. But some invade our immune system despite these defense mechanisms. It is why antimicrobial agents are important. A. luzonensis have been reported to have some desirable actions against micro-organisms. A Study evaluated the essential oils from the roots and leaves of A. luzonensis. Essential oils from the leaves exhibited high antimicrobial activity against human pathogen K. pneumonia. Essential oils from the leaves displayed varying activity against all tested strains(8). In addition to having antioxidant properties, Xanthone, which is extracted from A. luzonensis, also promotes normal cell response(8). The response is vital, because normal cell response helps in fighting infections.

Cell Replication Health

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death. It caused by the excessive proliferation of cells, unchecked by the usual mechanisms in the body, the extract plays a major role in discouraging this processes from happening. If not regulated, these cells could keep proliferating, resulting in great morbidity or even mortality. Antioxidants play an important role in promoting healthy cell replication. It discourages unhealthy replication of cells by promoting the mopping up of free radicals. A Study on the bark of A.luzonensis yielded five new Xanthone and one unique flavonoid, along with seven known xanthones and seven flavonoids. Almost all the flavonoids and one Xanthone showed antioxidant properties(9). It aids healthy replication of cells. Xanthones extracted from A. luzonensis also play a role in protecting and supporting the heart's proper functioning (10). Xanthones found in A.luzonensis have a significant role in strong Cholinesterase inhibitory activity, which may have an important role in promoting brain cell regeneration in Alzheimer's disease (5). Research on the dichloromethane extract of A.luzonensis reported a concentration-dependent effect in aiding vaso-relaxation(6).
